Little prince

The shrine of Barasoain is turning 150 years old on July. One of their project, to earn funds for the Church, is the Little Prince and Little Princess. Daddy, a member of the Knights of Columbus, volunteered Ryan to be their candidate. They had their procession with the images of Mama Mary during the Santacruzan and presentation of the candidates as well. Ryan's the oldest among the candidates but not the smallest hehe. Kakaawa lang kasi conscious na conscious sya during the parade.

Go little prince! Your lola is so proud of you haha!!!

.. and back..

It's time to go back to Manila.
As if we didn't have too much photos, we still had more at the airport waiting for our flight back to Manila.
Filipinos won't be happy with their tour without shopping. And Filipinos cannot go home from vacation without pasalubongs. We were hoping to bring coconut crab but it's not allowed to be brought out of Batanes. If you're craving for coconut crab, you better go to Batanes. That's how it goes. So we were able to buy native coin purse and key chains of old stone houses and the Ivatan costume.
Thank you Mom and Dad! Looking forward to many more years of happiness together.
Not all fairy tales has happy ending. Ours was about to end. Sadly, we have to bid good bye to the beautiful people of Batanes. Worse, back to work. Have to work hard once again for our next destination... Gota Village of Caramoan? or outside Philippines since it will be Mommy's and Daddy's 40th year? Watch out for it!

Saya sa Sabtang.

Finally, a trip to the island of Sabtang.

We boarded a big boat going to the island and the boat was swinging left and right when we boarded it. Riding the boat was a bit scary. It was a 40-minute ride with big waves (that is, for me). Omar got sea sick and the provincial tourism of Sabtang gave us free medicine for dizziness upon our registration at the island.
We first explored the east side of the island where we passed along a village of old stone houses. We went down at the start of the village and walked our way to the end. A lola even went out of her store just to look at Winter, who thought that he was a girl.

And of course, we would stop by a Church for a prayer of thanks. 90% of the population are Catholics.
We stopped by an ark to enjoy the view and have more photos taken.Next stop was the old house selling the Ivatan costume used to protect them from the heat of the sun and rain. My mom bought one for girls. The lolas in the house just loves Winter. They all thought I have a baby girl with me.
We then had our lunch. Ang sarappp!!! Even the kids loves the fried kamote so yummy! We then headed to the west side of the island, on our way to the beach. But since we were scared to leave the island late and encounter bigger waves, we decided not to take a dip.
Winter, as usual, loves the water.
And just like our previous trips, we would have our family picture - complete or incomplete!
We encountered bigger waves on our wave back but with the medicine from the tourism, ride wasn't that tough. And the captain of the boat assured us not to be afraid for the boat will not topple down even if it was rocking left and right.

More of Batan

There was a shooting of a coffee commercial (the new Nescafe commercial you can now see on TV- that's how late I am posting my stories hehe) being shot at Sabtang and they rented all the available transportation in the island so we were not able to see the island. We went to tour the rest of the Batan island instead.

We rented a van and they brought us at the Fisherman's Village and hiked up our way to the Spring of youth. We rented Muning's cottage and she prepared our lunch while we trek our way to the spring. It was a 20-minute walk to the spring, up hill and down hill. Summer had no choice but to walk her way to the spring since I was already carrying Winter and Omar, due to his heart condition, cannot carry Summer to the spring.
We enjoyed the cool dip at the spring. We had it to ourselves. It was my first to swim with Winter. He had his first dip with my in-laws. He just loves the water.
Good thing on our way back, tide was low so we were able to walk along the shore - well, more of over the corals. Summer had her way this time, though. She asked one of the kuyas to carry her on her way back and they were so kind to accommodate her request.
We had sumptuous lunch at Muning's then went back to the hotel to rest. We had our dinner at Batanes Resort - a resort operated by the provincial government.
For our last day tomorrow, by hook or by crook, we have to see the island of Sabtang!

Let's see Batan.

The accommodation at Fundacion Pacita comes with a complimentary tour of the island of Batan.

First stop was the Chawa View Deck. Then, we went to see the oldest house, built on 1887, with the lola inside - the granddaughter of the owner. We try to visit a Church whenever we see a new place - a nice way of saying Thank you for bringing us there safe. You'll be amazed with the Honesty Cafe. A teacher used to sell coffee and snacks for the fishermen and travellers from the other islands since her place is just by the pier. And since she's always out farming, she just leave the store open for everyone to get their needs. You just list your bought items in her notebook and drop your payment in the box. Yes, no sales lady. That's how honest they are. That's how good they are.We stopped along the road to enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean or was it the South China Sea? Can't remember which side we were but both surrounds Batanes. We passed by the Ruins of Songsong where stone houses were destroyed by a tidal wave. The family moved to Bukidnon after. We passed by another Church with a little light house. The Marlboro Country is just amazing!

And a final stop at a light house before having our dinner, just in time to catch the sun set.We had dinner at Therese Coffee shop where we enjoyed Bataan's Coconut Crab. We were served lobster, lapulapu and Ibatan food. I ate all the aligi of one coconut crab. Unforgettable.Tomorrow will be an early day for Sabtang Island.

To and from

To Batanes, from Manila.

We left home at 7am for our 9am flight to Basco, Batanes via Seair. It was an hour and a half flight to Batanes. The kids were manageable during the flight, thanks to the family for the help in amusing Winter when he was up. The airport was nice. We were fetched at the airport by Ryan from Fundacion Pacita.
We stayed at one of the best accommodations we've been to here in the Philippines. One thing nice of travelling on weekdays is having the whole place to yourself. We had beautiful rooms. There were only 8 staff but we were very well served and they were all nice. There was even a time when Omar and I were taking a nap with Winter and Summer was at the kitchen chatting with the staff and they even gave her milk and fed her her Koko Krunch. You can just stay in there and relax and have fun even without a swimming pool or videoke.Come and join us as I take you with us and tour Batanes.

Favorite stop.

We love to eat. My family loves to eat, except for Summer nga lang. I hope she discover the fun of eating soon.

We heard mass at Antipolo early in the morning, brought the kids to their doctor for their monthly check-up early lunch, bought Omar's phone at SM after lunch, so the family stayed at the shop the whole day. Omar had to finish something at the shop so we went home later than usual. We had dinner at Shakey's! I wanted to eat Thai but it was Summer's wish to eat at Shakey's. Summer had 2 slices of pizzas with mojos and balat ng chicken. Winter had soup and had fun smiling at the camera while seated on his high chair.

Thanks for the dinner. I love Shakey's.

May Check-up

Winter's due for his vaccine while it's Summer's follow-up check with her primary complex.

Summer gained 1kg from last month - which is good. Best if we can get more weight gain. Better than nothing. Good that she did not lose weight. Summer, knowing that she won't be getting any vaccine that day, talked a lot! She shared stories with her doctor - from her morning activities before going to the hospital to her birthday to her trip to Canada to her trip to the beach to her cousins Jaja and Julian, everything! Her doctor was so kind to listen to all her stories while checking Winter.

Winter, on the other hand, did not gain weight - must be with all his activities, crawling here and there. He had his second shot of his IPD. Ang mahal ha! Di naman pwede tipirin ang health ng family. I also discussed with his doctor why he hasn't grown any teeth yet. The doctor is giving me until his first year, or even until his 14th month, before we can check on him and make some test.

Everything's all good! Thank God!

Tayo na sa Antipolo!

We would hear mass at Antipolo, at least once a year, during their fiesta, celebrated the whole month of May. The Mama Mary of Antipolo is known to protect travellers. We left Malolos at 5am to catch the 7am mass. Kuya and I would share and treat the family for breakfast. This year, we had breakfast at Pancake House along Katipunan Ave. Omar had the jumbo hamburger, I had the smoked bangus, Summer almost finished her 2pcs classic pancake, and Winter had mashed potatoes. Summer loved her breakfast! Sana araw-araw ganun.
And as promised to Ninang Jenny, here's our photo wearing our Chucks.
Happy anniversary Mommy and Daddy! Looking forward to celebrating next year's anniversary. Woohoo!!!! Excited!

Practice.

We're leaving on Tuesday for our 4d/3n summer get-away.

No yaya for Winter and Summer. I brought out the sling and practiced wearing Winter in it. Summer then was playing again with the camera and took a good shot of Winter. Ang puti ni Winter, lalo akong umiitim sa kanya hahaha. Di kaya kami pagkamalang native sa pupuntahan namin?

Happy Birthday Shayna!

It was Shayna's 1st birthday party at Jollibee Malolos. I brought Summer with me.
Summer was scared at first, must be due to the loud noise. She would even tell me - 'Mama, sakit sa tenga noh?' She would join the 'bring me' games, whenever I could provide some items. She was busy doing her coloring book - a prize from the bring me game, when the game was the longest happy birthday greeting. She played this once before so I asked her if she wanted to play, she ignored me and kept on coloring. The first participant doesn't know how to speak yet so was asked to go down. Summer then left her table and went straight to the chair with the hosts, not minding the other kids lined up for the game, and participated! She did not win, though.Time came when Jollibee went out to greet the celebrant, had picture taken with the guests, danced to the tune of 'Sabay sabay tayo', witnessed the blowing of the candle - and Summer was so scared. She would run by herself across the other side of the room and grab on somebody to hold on to, not minding if she knew the person or not. Until the end of the party, when she happily went to Jollibee, ang weird! Kaya nakahabol pa kami ng photo with Jollibee. She was so happy and kept on saying how exciting the party was. Thanks Jane for the invite!

Healthy dinner.

Tita Eli, from Canada, went home to her province in Pangasinan. She stayed with us the day before she left on her way back to Canada.

We brought her to Tutuban. And it was a wrong move! It was a payday weekend, Tutuban was celebrating their fiesta so some streets were closed, so the mall was having a mallwide sale. So, imagine all the people! If you haven't been in the place before, you wouldn't notice the street going to the mall, it's jampacked with people! Then we had dinner at Rolling Pot Shabu Shabu at Banawe.
Safe food for Omar.
And we bought Strawberry Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert! Yummy!
Soup so good, desserts the best!

Happy Birthday Mama!

It's Mama's birthday!

The kids and I went to Karcraft to join Omar hear the anticipated mass at Twin Hearts.

We then went to Mama's house for dinner. We had a sumptuous dinner. We had crabs, karekare, spicy ground beef. I love the chicharon con kangkong. We brought sotanghon guisado. But nobody remembered to buy a cake for Mama. They gave Mama a new ref. Omar and I gave Mama a magic jack she can use to call Onnie, Tita Nora, Lola Nene and the rest of the relatives abroad for free.

Then it was time to go home again to Paradise. I had my frapuccino from Starbucks! Too much food!

Summer was busy playing with the camera.

While Winter was busy playing with his Ate Summer with the camera.

Visit to a reunion

Omar and I went to visit Bong's Dad, who was brought to the hospital due to chest pain, had a cardiac arrest, had 2 angioplasty and a bypass at the Phil. Heart Center. We went with Boss Jo. We had dinner at Pho hoa before heading to the hospital.

We just met up with Bong, since his Dad was still in the ICU, when the rest of the gang came. It's only now, since we got married, that I saw them all together. They sure had a long of catching up to do with each other. Sure they text each other, but nothing beats having coffee together.Boys will be boys. They were so funny.
I finally braved it and I survived.

I'm Cleared.

To buy muriatic acid, you need to have a permit from PDEA. One of the requirements for the permit is the NBI clearance of the authorized signatory. That's why I need to get my own.

My first attempt was on May 6. I was with Jenjen and Kuya Dante. I was able to get my finger print but I cannot stay long for the payment and photo because Jenjen's starting to get bored and Mommy will be needing the driver - in short, wala dun ang kakilala ni Daddy.

So I came back today. Wala pa ang kakilala ni Daddy. So no choice ako kundi pumila. Andun na rin lang ako, why not try to do it right while waiting. So I went in line, stayed in line for 10minutes, was able to move a little, stayed again for 15minutes, moved a little longer, and waited for 25minutes until Daddy's friend arrived. In 10minutes, I have with me my NBI clearance. Nag-make up pa man din ako para presentable ang picture ko sa clearance kaya lang sobrang init bale wala din at pag-upo ko for picture taking, pinatayo na ako. Ni hindi man lang ako pina-smile! Tapos na pala ako picture-an di ko man lang namalayan. Buti na lang nakasmile ako the entire time I was seated.

No record on file. Wala ako kapangalan! Kung meron man - behaved din sya kasi wala kami record! I'm cleared!

Mom's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

The night before mother's day, my kids really made me feel that I'm a mom! I was already lying down ready to sleep when I smelled a not so nice scent coming from Winter. Omar wouldn't change his nappy so I had no choice but to get up and change him. So I went back to bed. Then, Summer got up from her bed, went to the wash room, and shouted 'Mom! I'll call you when I'm done na ha!' Why do they have to do it when I'm lying down already and getting ready to sleep? Why can't they do it on day time when they're with their nanny? - answer is - because I'm the mom!

And now, it's my day! It's my mom's day! It's my mom-in-law's day!

We set-up our gifts for Mommy. It deserves a separate post. I can say she's happy!

Omar will be going home with the kids to Paranaque to visit my in-laws. Unfortunately, I cannot join them since I have a wedding to host in the afternoon here at Bulacan. So right after the wedding, I'll be celebrating my day on my own - lounging on the bed, with the aircon on, watching showbiz shows on TV, and surfing the net on my laptop, advertise on blogs, get paid, and more blog marketing. Then more moolah for online shopping! All alone, so quiet, so me time!

Mother's day, I love it!

Globalization

Gifts for my mom on Mother's Day!

From Guam - the street name where my brother lives, a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. Sayang, he was about to buy the special donut for mothers - the apple cream cheese donut, but they ran out of it so he got a dozen of chocolate karnival donuts instead. From USA - where my Ate is now staying with her family, a flower arrangement for my mom.
From France - the street name where I live with my family, a balloon bouquet.
From Canada - where Jenny is now staying, a Conti's Mango Bravo cake.Kuya and I set everything up in the dining room as early as 6am. Mom was surprised daw, but I bet she's expecting gifts from us. Same way I expected the gift from Omar hehehe, mana mana lang yan.
That's globalization - receiving gifts from around the globe on your special day. Happy mother's day to us beautiful moms!

Happy to be a mom.

One of the many reasons to be happy to be a mom is that I get to celebrate the Mother's Day.

I woke up early the night before so Omar was able to sneak in his bouquet of flowers for me. Kaya lang he placed it at the laundry basket near the waste basket, bigla tuloy ako naawa sa flowers kasi katabi ng spoiled diapers ni Winter.Sarap to wake up in the morning with a bouquet of flowers. Buti na lang I'm a mom hehe. Thank you Omar, Summer and Winter!

Yesterday and tomorrow.

If I could only turn back the time, it would have been easier to go back to my pre-pregnancy look. It would be nice and fun to dress up with all my accessories.

It was 5 years ago when Omar and I went home to our ransacked home.

We lived in an apartment then, just the two of us. We both go to work at day and would stay at Bulacan on weekends.

That night, we met up after work and played badminton. After the game, we went to Sta. Ana, where he grew up, to attend the town fiesta. We were just about to have dinner when his phone rang informing us that somebody broke into our house. We weren't able to eat dinner anymore and headed home. When we got home, the door was broken and our stuff were everywhere. They took all our jewelries, accessories, watches, and cash. All the jewelries my Mom gave me, poof! They were all gone.

If we only applied for the wireless security system and got even the cheapest copper package, we could have saved everything.

In the future that we get to have our own home, I'll see to it that I'll have them installed. It's easy and they work fast, I'll just have to call their toll-free number at 877-470-2751. I just hope to have our new home soon so I could still get the 2 free keychain remotes when I place my order.

Keep in mind, security is the priority, specially when it comes to your family.

Let's swing it.

Winter received a swing from his Ninang Elvie on his baptism. And since Winter can now seat on his own, I requested Omar to install it.
The babies watched him install and were so looking forward to riding it.
Winter loved it to bits!
It's good until 4years old so Ate Summer was able to enjoy the ride too.
Thank you Ninang Elvie for the instant playground!

Sharing is fun.

Mom and Dad bought Summer a pink Nintendo DS with R4. Unfortunately, they forgot to buy a memory stick. Jenny bought memory stick from Canada and will send it here through my cousins who are having their summer vacation in the US and Canada.

While waiting for the memory stick to arrive, Jenjen and Summer will temporarily have to make use of Ryan's games in his DS through game sharing. Isn't that a nice way of teaching kids how to share? Fun is sharing.

From Masbate.

Another guest, from Masbate - Ate Nora!Ate Nora took care of us when we were small. She is now a teacher in an island at Masbate teaching 3rd graders.

This summer, she went to visit her family in Manila and went to our place in Malolos. She finally met her latest addition to her apos in our family - Winter! She can only see Summer and Winter grow through this blog.

It's such a joy seeing Ate Nora holding my babies. She didn't get to marry and have kids her own. She can have my babies as her grandchildren =). That's why I love sharing stories of my seasons with her.

and Tested.

Nakaka-pressure.

With the help from Paeng's PSP, we were able to track the strongest spot of wifi in the area, just in time for the Pacquiao's fight.

At first, it was just the family watching the game.Until we installed the multi-media projector for a bigger view. We did not have the time to install the white screen anymore and made use of the empty wall. We set-up a speaker as well. When I was confident enough that the live streaming will be successful, we started inviting other people to join us. Tita Eli and Tito Boy, the practicumers, and a couple of guests were able to join us.Sulit ang $3.50 ko! The fight did not lag for long, just a couple of times but not enough to skip an important part of the game and a lot enjoyed watching the game.

Kaya lang lugi kasi ang bilis natapos! Ang galing ni Pacquiao!

From Canada.

A guest from Canada - Tita Eli of Tito Boyet!Tita Eli arrived last week to attend his brother's wake at Pangasinan. She went to Malolos to see his brother-in-law, Tito Boy and they met at our place. They arrived just in time for the Pacquiao-Hatton fight so they were able to see it live with us.

Ang galing, sumama sa kanya si Winter. Lately kasi inaatake ng separation anxiety ang batang ito.

Tried.

We used to watch Pacquiao's fight through pay-per-view from our cable subscriber but since it began showing at GMA7, our cable subscriber stopped offering it since it was being ran by the other network.

Daddy forwarded me a text message offering free live streaming from PLDT MyDsl. Unfortunately, we are under business connection and it is being offered for residential only.

Until I remembered a recommendation from my e-group. A member suggested logging in at www.justin.tv early that day to be able to see the live streaming. I checked and saw an ad for a no-drop live streaming of the fight leading me to hatton.notlong.com. I checked and was forwarded to www.xmeforums.com. For a donation of $3.50, one can view the live streaming for a day. It was accepting PayPal, so with closed-eyes, fingers-crossed, and a silent prayer hoping that it is not a scam, I paid for it.

It was my first time to use my earnings from this blog. I hope it's worth it. I hope it works. I hope it's not a scam.
