Mom and Dad's Ruby Year

Mommy's been planning for her Ruby Anniversary Party but no one else in the family is helping her plan, much more make moves for the party. Until they have to leave for Europe to attend a wedding.

The day after their arrival, they had their thanksgiving lunch with the family in celebration of their 40years together as husband and wife.

The family wore red.

We started the celebration with a Thanksgiving Mass with Mons Flint.

Lunch was served at the ballroom area. We served Filipino and Japanese cuisine with halo halo bar. It was a blast, as usual.
We ordered a small cake from Red Ribbon with Mom and Dad's picture from Grand Canyon.

Jenjen prepared the AVP with Ate's and her family's wishes for Mom and Dad. The staff prepared surprise dance numbers for them too.

The party was prepared in less than a week, with the celebrants at the opposite end of the earth. So, imagine the stress and hassle in preparing the party. The celebrants were happy, it's all worth it.

European delights.

Mommy and Daddy arrived from Europe. It was an unplanned trip to attend my cousin's wedding at Netherlands.

We did not expect that Mommy will shop around in Europe. Aside from sausages, cheese and chocolates, they brought home shoes, bags and shirts for us. They brought Dutch slippers for my babies.
Thank you Mom and Dad! I now own my most expensive shoes hehehe.

Uncle Dave's 50th

Uncle Dave may be Italian by nationality and Canadian by citizenship but he is Filipino by heart. He chose to go home to Manila to celebrate his golden year.

Their family arrived Saturday lunch time and they were warmly welcomed by the heat and heavy traffic of Manila. On the night of their arrival, we went to the park to drink by the band while lighting up some fireworks, as promised by Daddy, for Uncle Dave's birthday.

On his birthday itself, we saw Shrek Forever After at The Cabanas followed with dinner at Gerry's Grill.
We prepared cake and coffee at home. I instructed to buy a mango or ube cake at Red Ribbon for the balikbayans. I was informed that it was out of stock and they bought cake with fruits instead. Until I saw the cake from Goldilocks! Wala talagang mango and ube cake dun! Oh well, wala din naman Goldilocks sa Canada, okay na rin. Better lang sana kung Red Ribbon.
We finished the rest of the fireworks in time of his blowing of the candle.

Happy birthday Uncle Dave! Have fun at hot hot manila!

Be safe.

Summer's medical history for Assumption was long over due. Her pedia was out of the country and we were quite busy at Bulacan so we only had our free time today to visit their doctor.

They're due for vaccine too but their pedia decided to give them AH1N1 virus first in preparation for Summer's big school days. The kids were rewarded with lollipops.
Summer gained a pound! Alleluia!

Finally, with Malen

Malen's been coming back and forth to and from Manila and US and I never get to meet her - either I'm out of town, she's out of town, our schedule just can't simply meet.

Malen is a college friend. She's based in the US and comes home to visit her family.

We finally met at Greenbelt for merienda. Too bad Ivy cannot join us. Some even brought their kids with them. We're aging hehehe.
It was nice seeing Malen and my college friends. Hope do it again real soon.

I.am.done.

Took me more than 4hours to fulfill my obligation as a citizen of the republic. Boy was I so glad to read Congratulations! from the PCOS machine.

Mommy, Daddy, Jenny and I went to the church, our polling area, to vote at 7:30am.

We first cued at the grounds of the church leading to the open court, under the sun, where you'll line for your cluster. This was where we waited for hourssss. It was good when they announced a special lane for senior citizens. My mom and dad went ahead with my mom taking with her my hanky. They were done in minutes and went home ahead of us and Jenny and I will just walk our way home.

Omar and his family went to vote at the public school and we were monitoring each other and we have the same situation. Also with his parents done ahead of time as they are senior citizens too.

My in-laws picked up my kids at home so they can have breakfast at their place. On their way to my kids, they dropped by at the church to bring me iced water with 2 glasses, ensaymada with paper napkins, watermelon, and a fan. Aren't they heaven sent?
Until Jenny and I were allowed to enter the covered court to line for our precinct. Actually, our line moved not because people are done voting but people were going home already. We were able to cast our vote but we have to line again to sign our papers from the Comelec.

We were walking, under the sun, on our way home without umbrella. It was really a sacrifice to vote yet fulfilling to see the indelible ink on my finger. We had to take a bath after voting before going to my in-laws for lunch. Omar finished almost the same time that we did.
I was wearing my white top from Mama with yellow ribbon and my yellow watch with yellow ribbon from Omar as my mother's day gift yesterday. Sadly, have to take a bath and discard my outfit for the day. I was wearing green after but I did not go for green, almost did.
We spent the rest of the day at my inlaw's place eating until dinner before we head back to Bulacan.

Boy do.

We shaved Winter's hair on my birthday. And now we're trimming his hair on mother's day.

Winter loves the car.
He did not cry. Thank God!
The barbers said he was a good boy.
My baby no more.

My day.

It's mother's day!

I got flowers from Jenny and Reg.
I got a yellow ribbon watch from the father of my kids.

We gave our moms jewelry boxes and sisters-in-law mini bag tags as keychains with their names.

Will just have to buy for sando, socks and school shoes. PE uniform to be claimed on the first day. Pumuti pa kaya anak ko? Parang di bagay ang maitim sa Assumption. How can she make tuhog tuhog the fish ball?

Labor Day weekend.

My kids were so excited having their Reantaso cousins for the weekend.

There was never enough playing and swimming and fighting too. Just imagine the mess they made in our room with all the toys around. But they know they have to clean up at the end of the day. Just watch out for your steps during day time.
Adults had too much eating too.
