Book Fair

One of Summer's school way of celebrating book fair is to have a parade of book characters.

From hand me downs costume from her Ate Jenjen, we picked up her Arabian costume so Summer can pretend like Princess Jasmine of Aladdin.  I just put on a crown and voila! She's a princess.
Big girl na baby girl ko.

Summer's

Just sharing Summer's work of art.
That's me, Omar, Summer and Winter, according to her.  I'm such a stage mom!

Emergency!

Just to be safe, I have to bring Summer to the ER of St. Luke's for her cbc test. She's been sick with cough and colds and had on and off fever.
Dengue is so rampant and I cannot just sit still and wait for symptoms to arise so I have to take her test even if I'm confident that she doesn't have it. Confidence, this time, is not enough.

First regular day.

It's Summer's first regular day at school with her BIG bag.
Go Summer! Bring it on!

Omar's Day

Summer wanted to serve Omar breakfast on bed yesterday for her father's day gift for her Papa but since we were staying at Bulacan we cannot possibly do that since we eat at Mommy's house and we don't prepare food at home. If only she informed me at least a day before so I could prepare something...
She prepared a card as well.
It may be late but Omar sure appreciated Summer more.

School starts today and she's in Grade 1. School starts at 7:15am, earlier wake up time.
Do well in school, Summer.

Graduation day.

And I wasn't able to attend her graduation day. Omar wasn't able to attend too. Ate Cory can't too since she have to look after Winter and Winter cannot join her too since he have to go to sleep so he can join Summer at Fun Day in the afternoon. Nin and Ate Jenjen were busy too. I told her ahead that other kids will have their mommies there and she won't have her Mommy there but I promised her that I'll bring her to the Fun Day later.

Omar dropped her at McDonalds and Kuya picked her up, together with Nin and Jenjen. Looks like Summer was asking Kuya here to wait a little longer while Kuya was asking her for his french fries and Summer was telling him that he have to pay for it =).
Good thing the graduation finished late or Nin came in early so they were able to take photos of Summer.
She went home with a certificate, backpack with tumbler and her other art works like puzzle and other color art works.
Whew! At least now she have some story to share for her summer vacation since I wasn't able to send her to some summer class.

Royal Wedding.

As I was watching the royal wedding, Summer would say 'boo!'. She wasn't interested and would rather watch Disney or Nickelodeon channels. Until I read that Rowan Atkinson arrived already and I told her that Mr. Bean was there. She suddenly lit up and got excited looking for Mr. Bean among the crowd then she asked, 'Does he speak?'.
-----------
As Summer was so excited about Mr. Bean. Summer shared with me that Queen Elizabeth was from the cup. And that Mr. Bean found her dog and that's how the queen knew him and that's how he got invited to the wedding.
-----------
And when Summer saw Prince William got off from the car and removed his cap and gloves, Summer said 'heh? What happened? Did he cut his hair?'.
-----------
I never knew how interesting it was to watch TV with her or was it because the royal wedding was like an educational film where you'll learn a lot.

Summer's day 5 at mcdo

Summer is on her last day today at McDonalds.

For the past week, I've been trying to go there early just so I can take photos of her while she's on the floor but it was always done when I get there. The trainor noticed it and kindly offered me the chance. She let Summer go to the floor once again just for photo ops.

This is Summer at the drive-thru.
And Summer at the counter with the trainor in red uniform.
And this is Summer as a customer buying her french fries... again.
Thanks McDo for the program. I hope my little girl learned something from her one week session.

Summer's day 2 at mcdo

Summer got her shirt size right this time and so she was able to report in uniform.
She started getting new friends.
I brought Winter with me when I went to pick up Summer after her session.
And it was double expense - fries for two. Winter got his Ate's drink.
In 3 more years and I'll be sending 2 kids for McDo summer activities for kids, or Summer will be over aged by then?

Summer's Day 1 at McDo

I just kept on inquiring and never got the chance to enroll Summer for any summer activities. She ran out of slot for voice lesson near my place and we have a scheduled vacation come May so it's pretty hard to squeeze in something for her this time.

Good thing I came across a summer activity with McDonalds for just a week and I'm pretty sure she'll have fun pretending that she's working.
Summer had fun on her first day.

Regret.

I planned to bring Summer with us, for her first time, at Divine Mercy for our annual stations of the cross with Mons Flint. Unfortunately, it rained heavily last night. The grotto was like a farm so I thought it might get muddy so I decided not to bring her anymore.

And to my surprise, it did not rain at all in their part of Bulacan. Sayang talaga, she would love to see the stations. And what perfect timing for us to be with Mons so she can address all her questions to Mons.
I just took photos of every station for her and will surely bring her to our bisita iglesia with the Reantasos. Sayang talaga.

Cenaculo.

We heard mass and Summer saw the casts of the cenaculo having their rehearsal at the church grounds. She was sooo interested to watch it and scared at the same time, knowing what Jesus went through from school.

I told her to ask her Papa if he can bring her. Omar did not say yes too. And to my surprise, he also wanted to bring Summer but unsure of what the day will bring - we might get lazy and we do not want to disappoint the little girl. Summer must have prayed too hard for it and Omar and I were still in the mood to bring her.

Chairs were not provided and we positioned her at the scaffolding.
She just had a hard time fully understanding it for it is in Tagalog. In a very loud voice (due to too much excitement), she would ask us what 'kaibigan' means. And in a province, with all the kabataans around, it was just embarrassing to have her speak in english in a local setting.
We did not get to finish it anymore since Omar and I were just standing up. She asked us to extend for a little bit, then we just promised her that we'll just try to catch the movie 'The passion of the Christ' on TV on Good Friday.

I'm just happy she's interested in our religion.

Prep Moving up day.

It's Summer's moving up day!

Took me a lot of convincing stories just to let her wear the white dress. She finds the ruffles at the shoulder itchy so we have to wear a sando under it. Then her white shoes just keeps on slipping off, even with 2 corks inside, because of the stockings so we have to wear white knee socks on top of her stockings.

Teacher Trina gave her and the rest of Prep E students a souvenir CD. Summer and I are both excited to open it when we get home.
Omar and I were surprised to see her right in the middle and in the front row. And all the girls are in white, except for her with red flowers on the shoulder and sash. So you can just imagine how she looks so stand out right in the middle in front with red!
They showed a skit on the life of Sr. Mary Eugenie. Summer was with Act 4 and sang Big God.

Then the awarding of ceremonies followed. They showed the kids annual picture on the screen while their names were being called to receive their certificate on stage.
Another school year ended. What's in store for us for Grade 1?
We invited the lolas to join us. I just realized that they are more stage lolas than me. Mommy bought a bouquet of flowers for Summer too. I like the bouquet, so small, just right for Prep graduates.
We treated the Lolas for lunch at Tao Yuan Restaurant at the Resorts World.
I finally got to eat hainanese chicken. I love it! Best eaten with hainanese rice. I love the laksa too.
We saw Sam too after lunch and the kids had fun running around the lobby and literally rolling around.
Congratulations Summer!

Happy Birthday Summer, again!

It's Summer's birthday and she's 6 years old already!

We invited the family for a quick dinner at KFC at SM Bicutan. Surprisingly, on a weekday, they were full. Good thing, Omar and Kuya Olejoe came in early and reserved 3 tables for us.
We just bought a small cookies and cream cake from Red Ribbon for her to blow. Cookies and cream has become her favorite for the last few days.
When the kids were done eating, they went to ride the animal and motorcycle rides and the merry go round.
Winter was scared at first but we already paid for 4 tickets so I forced him to ride until he enjoyed it.
Summer's favorite part, next to the rides with her cousins, were opening of the gifts. She got her scooter from Nin.

Happy birthday Summer! May you grow healthy and God fearing.

Happy Birthday Summer!

Summer never had a birthday celebration at school because school usually ends a week before her birthday. But birthday parties will no longer be allowed in her school with grade school. And last day of school will be exactly on her birthday, moving up day will be on the next day. But the girls will be too busy for their practice so Teacher Trina scheduled me on March 17 lunch time because their practice will be extended until 2pm.

I ordered Red Ribbon chocolate cake with Disney princess design and bought a birthday candle at the bookstore.
We brought Jollibee chicken and spaghetti and small bottles of iced tea.
We were not allowed to stay so Teacher Trina just took the camera from us so she can take pictures for us.

Here's Summer with Pilar
and the rest of Prep E.
Teacher Trina was kind enough to take pictures of Summer and her friends at the playground while waiting for me to pick her up.
Winter too had fun with the girls even for just a quick one. Summer had fun opening gifts from her classmates.

Party again.

Summer was once again invited for her classmate's 7th birthday at Manila Polo Club.

She once again took advantage of the salon for girls at the party.
She had fun playing games where prizes are toy money.
You use the toy money to buy prizes at the booth. She was able to get an art set and kitchen set.
They had fun dancing too. Evie, together with her friends, performed a dance number which was repeated with all the other kids.
Parties are getting more complicated. Even before Summer turns 6, I am starting to brain wash her that she's not having a party as grand as theirs. We cannot afford it.

Let's pretend we're royal.

Summer was invited by her bus mate for her 7th birthday party at Hotel Intercon in Makati. The theme was princess and asked the girls to come in their royal outfit.

Summer wore Jazzy's first holy communion gown, the gloves from her Belle costume, and the crown from Tita Sexy.
And while the princess was at the ball with her yaya, the king and the queen, together with the little prince, went to Magoos to have our share of feast.
We got tired walking around so we decided to look for Starbucks, have our coffee and sit while waiting for our princess to finish her ball.

It was just so funny how the little prince will echo what the king was doing. The little prince will stir his chocolate cream chip frapuccino while the king was stirring his mocha frapuccino.
And the little prince will drink while the king was drinking too. Look at his eyes.
Until it was time to pick up the princess from the hotel. She was wearing a different hair style now from the salon for kids at the party and with a little tiara on her head.
Time to change for the next party, Summer! - no longer a princess, but may we live happily ever after.
