My luck

We are not players. We just try our luck at the slot machines but no card or chip games for us.

I only get to try playing whenever we go to Las Vegas. And the last time I was there, I was even with Summer so definitely no playing at all. Not until we stopped at Barstow on our way home, I asked my cousin to hold Summer for a while while I try my luck with $ 5.00. And with just my last dollar, I hit something that let my machine lit up, turned out that I won $ 250.00. I was surprised! I didn't know how I did it but I'm sure was so happy and I cannot forget that luck!

But how often can I go to Vegas to try my luck? And going to Vegas is not that cheap too - what with the airfare going to the US, land ride going to Vegas, hotel accommodation and buffet meals.

Too much space

Summer is taking up too much of our bed space as she sleeps like the hands of the clock and would even complain when she bumps into anybody.

We are thinking of getting her her own sleigh bed, keep our queen beds, or change our queen bed to king beds. As of now, we are using a queen bed and a single bed foam which is too inconvenient to use.

And with our limited space at home, we are thinking of converting our counter into a counter height tables which we can use as breakfast table at the same time.

Christmas Shopping

Omar and I went to Divisoria yesterday to do our Christmas shopping.

We did not expect that we will be giving so much gifts and will be spending a lot. Our wallets were drained and will just have to wait for the next pay day for refills so we can finish our christmas list.

If you got extra money, with the way the peso-dollar rate are going, I believe now is the best time to invest in dollars.

We were able to purchase a property at the Riverside before for less than three hundred thousand dollars and was able to sell it at around four hundred thousand dollars in two years. We wouldn't earn that much interest in the bank.

It's just so irritating when you're so in a hurry printing your payroll so you'll know how much you need so you can withdraw your payroll just before the bank closes at 3pm and what?!?! your printer ran out of ink!!!

I am happy with my credit card. I always bring it with me, something I would need in case of emergency - when I suddenly found something I've been looking for and I did not bring any cash with me. I use it whenever I go to the grocery store to do our shopping. It's unsafe here in the country to be carrying a lot of cash and you never know how much you need to bring, so to be sure and safe, I always bring with me my card.

And with the technology nowadays, credit card companies will surely make things easy for you. No need to go to the bank to check your available balance, your statements, and even do balance transfers for payments.

You'll just have to learn to use your credit card responsibly. Charge how much you can pay. See to it that you can settle your account on time and in full to avoid penalty and finance charges.

A credit card is not bad, it's the irresponsibility of the cardholder that makes it bad. Use it wisely and you'll find it helpful and useful.

Someday...

Someday, we will have our own home.

It's not that we are not living in our own home now. It's my mom's and it's good for starters like me and Omar. I still dream of having our very own home, built and designed just for us.

I wish for a small homey house. One which will make you feel at home or comfortable once you set foot inside it. And I want a big stockroom where I can keep my garbages I refuse to throw. I want our master's bedroom to have its own receiving area and a walk-in closet, with a bath tub in our comfort room.

For our dining furniture, I want something not too formal. For the living room, a sofa set you can lie on. And no television inside our kid's room. No wireless phone at the public areas. We can have one inside our master's bedroom. This is to stop my kids from settling inside their room 24/7. I want them with me all the time hehehehe. Hmm... how about sleigh beds inside Summer's room?

Car? or Pick-up?

Omar will be selling his newly restored Toyota Corolla. I like his car. It's so classic, it's so clean. I want it to be Summer's car when she grew up. But I have to respect his decision with his car.

His plan was to use the money from his old car for down payment and to pay the balance in installment. Will it be in-house financing from the car dealer? Or car loan from the bank? Costume? Uniform?

When Summer was given an assignment to wear what she wants to be when she grows up, there were so many things I had in mind. But I want something unique, a stage mom that I am.

Vacations

Every year, we get to travel with my family just before the school starts. This is our reward after months of hard work in the business and to continually inspire us to work harder and for the kids to study harder. We usually go last week of May or first week of June, depending on when the kids will start their school.

Our first expedition was at Dos Palmas, when the abduction of the Abu Sayyaf happened 3 days after we left the place and we were even planning to extend our stay then. Then it was followed with a trip to Bohol, to Club Noah, to Davao, and to El Nido. We love to go to Coron at Palawan this time but my mom just had too much Palawan already.

Last May, she was mentioning of going to an Asian Cruise instead including Hong Kong so she could bring her grandchildren at Disneyland. Omar and Summer haven't been to Disneyland. It was too late for us then to book for the trip. I am still hoping that her offer is good until next year. So I better plan early this time.
