Costumes! Costumes!

We will be attending Kam's birthday party tomorrow and the theme is Winnie the pooh. It's not a costume party. Halloween is near but it's not yet halloween. It's hot so wearing the costume here is not feasible. I got the costumes from Ate.

I wish my babies can wear them while it still fits them.
The Tigger looks good at Summer, tall and slim.
Winter wanted to try Tigger too.
Aren't they cute?

Santa Baby!

Summer had her Christmas program today. She improved a lot compared to her previous presentations before. She would now dance gracefully and sing and recite their poem loud. In fact, her voice would raise above all voices because it was too loud, that is for me at least.
Another moment to be a proud stagemom.

Perfect!

Summer is now on her Senior Year at Playschool International.

This year, it is not just playing. I was informed by the teacher that their objective for this school year is for the senior students to learn how to read by the end of the school year. Summer now have her Reading and Math Books.

When I reach home everyday, I see to it that I check her diary. They now have home works and pages to review. Summer and I would scan the pages they took up for the day.

It is also her first to have an assessment test.

She had her Math test on a Monday. We did not review for Math anymore since she basically knows all her colors and shapes.

Reading Test was on a Tuesday. We scanned a few pages, focusing on letter H. And when I brought her to school in the morning, we were reviewing her beginning sounds.

So when I got home, I checked her envelope again for homeworks. And there were her test papers. She got 15/15 for her Math test and 10/10 for her Reading test. All with 3 stars and with Good Job remark from her teacher with her Reading test.

Ang sarap ng feeling! Feeling ko nag-top ang anak ko sa bar exam. Sana magtuloy-tuloy.

Thank you Summer for giving Mama another reason to be a stagemom.

Juniors to Seniors

Summer finally moved up from Juniors to Seniors. She's been long waiting for it to happen. I believe it's her dream to become a Senior. The program started with the parade of rock stars - the theme of the moving up day, followed by an opening number from all the students. The Juniors had their turn to show their own number.

Then the certification of attendance was distributed.
All the girl students of Playschool had a separate number from the boys.
Then, they gave special awards to the students. Summer got the Art Angel Award. She so loves drawing her family and friends. She has the most artworks in her class.
All the students had their closing number.
After the ceremony, we had early lunch at Shakey's! I've been so craving for Shakey's for the longest time! We had garlic and cheese pizza, chicken and mojos, and a large strawberry shake!I love this day! It's a dream come true for Summer and for me - for she is finally a Senior and I got my Shakey's. Thanks Omar! Congrats Baby! I'm so proud of you.

My school girl.

Since Summer started attending school, I see to it that I call her once she gets home.

Monday:
Ate Nenet reported that Summer got mad with her teacher because her teacher refused to give her a stamp. Reason - she was not listening to her teacher. From the last parent-teacher conference, we learned that Summer was one of the few students who could sit still and listen to the teacher. But coming from vacation, I expected a few days not getting stamp since I expected her to be sharing lots of stories with her classmates. But not for more than a week already. So I talked to her and told her that I won't bring her to school anymore if she will not listen to her teacher. Aba! Pumayag at galit daw sya sa teacher nya! So I told her, no stamp, no TV! I know, my bad! Pero dun sya natuto mag-english tsaka Disney or Playhouse Disney channel lang naman e.

Tuesday:
Summer happily went home with a stamp.

Wednesday:
Aba! 2 stamps pa!

Thursday:
No stamp pero for all students naman daw, wala. Nenet asked her teacher how she was and was informed that they saw a big change for Summer since Tuesday. Effective ang TV!

Friday:
May stamp ulit.

Hay salamat! Back to normal na ulit si Summer. Grade conscious kaya pag laki?

Lizarondo-Loreto

The groom, Rex, is my cousin from my mom's side.

Daddy is one of the principal sponsors. But since he is out of the country, Kuya Dojoe represented him.Summer was the smallest among the 5 flower girls. She loves her dress, her shoes, her hairband, her flowers, everything! And she walked gracefully! I asked her who taught her to hold her dress, and she said 'me lang!' Ang arte! She loves having her photo taken. There was a time when a photographer was taking a shot of the flower girls and she happened to seat farthest from the camera, so she stood up and moved to the seat closest to the camera. And at the end of the wedding rites when all the relatives of the bride were being called to join for the pictorial, she joined them too and refused to leave. Ang kapal ng mukha hehehe.I was the host for the reception and had fun doing it. Cousin Jon serenaded the couple and the guests with a few song numbers. Summer had fun playing with her cousins. Winter joined us at the reception.I am a stage mom not only for Summer but for Winter as well.

Trick or Treat?

It's Playschool International's Halloween Parade.I asked Summer what costume she wanted to wear for their halloween parade and she wanted to be a mermaid with red hair.

It's my first time to spend for her costume and excited mom that I was, I bought the costumes giddily with close eyes. Pero okay lang kasi we were both excited kahit pink hair nabili namin instead of red hair.

The teachers put on their students face painting and Summer got a star on her face.

They started the program with their prayer and 'hello' song. Then, they recited their halloween poem - a 14-line poem which Summer was able to memorize in less than 30minutes. The toddlers had their dance number followed by a 'wrap a mummy game' for toddler moms.

The juniors level had their dance number, followed by the seniors. After the dance numbers, we were given small paper plates to make pumpkins with our kids. Summer colored the plate with orange and I cut out the pumpkin's face. Summer wanted to put hair and earrings so I added a shirt and short pants, just to make it different from the others. Then, I realized that it doesn't look like a pumpkin anymore hehehe. They danced Ghost Busters for their final dance number before kids were able to go around the parents for their candies. Summer got her pumpkin half full of candies. We were asked to bring snacks to share and we brought inipit from Malolos and Summer ate ice cream and cupcake.Summer would surely have a feast eating all her chocolates and snacks from her trick or treat.

She can easily recall things and situations and has a very imaginative mind. Improvement in her social skills has been noted, she can already adjust to the people around her. She plays cooperatively with her classmates and as well as with adults. Summer shows enthusiasm when it comes to art related activities. She loves to draw her family as well as her classmates. She is very artistic and very imaginative when it comes to arts.

Creative mind.

I brought Summer with me to the office on a Saturday.

She loves staying at the office kasi nakakapag-paint sya with her water color. I even post them at my divider, it's like her Wall of Paint hehehe.

Summer loves playing with office stuff too. One of these is the container with magnetic top filled with paper clips and some coins. She used to sort them according to colors. But now, she did something different. Look! According to her, it's a carrot daw - with the paper clips forming the carrot and the coins forming the leaf.

At least di lang physically malikot, pati isip malikot hehehe, STAGE MOM na naman ako! Proud na proud to the tiniest thing.

Proud to be a stage mom.

I am proud to be a stage mom to my daughter, Summer. And I'm so happy and thankful for all the reasons to be proud of.

Of course, I need an outlet to pour out all of my daughter's accomplishments, booboos, and all. I wouldn't be content with just telling stories personally to my family and friends. And that's the main reason why I set up my blog. I wanted to record Summer's milestones so she can read it when she grows up.

Now that I have a blog, I need a community or a forum to let other people know my love for my daughter. I am thankful that the SocialSpark community is there to listen to my every brags for my daughter. I am slowly meeting friends around the globe who happily reads my stories without complains. You don't only get a free audience for your daughter's shows, SocialSpark would even help you buy anything for your baby.

Who wouldn't be proud of their babies? Who wouldn't want to show their great love for their lovable daughter? I am a proud to be a stage mom. And I am thankful to SocialSpark for being there for the opportunity to brag her and for giving me rewards for sharing her with the community as well.

So to all mommy bloggers out there, get out, join the community, and share your precious moments with us. We will not complain but share with your joy of motherhood because we are stage moms too.

First Home Work

Summer went home with her first ever home work. She did not bring home any home works last school year.
She's starting to write her name already hehehe. Though, when I get home, Ate Cory already helped her with her home work.

A Star!

Summer went home with her first stamp for the school year!I asked her what she did to deserve the stamp, she cannot answer. Oh no! Di bale at least may stamp pa rin. Sulit na rin kahit parang tape recorded ako kaka-remind sa kanya to always listen to her teachers, no fighting with her classmates, and to always share with everybody.

Where is Summer?

2 Sticks of Yanyan

I see to it that I bring pasalubong to my inlaws everytime we visit them on Sundays. That's what my Mom taught me to do. It doesn't have to be expensive, it's the thought that counts.

We passed by Shell Magallanes to fill up gas and buy nuts for Papa. Summer went down with me and got Yanyan for herself. She was enjoying her yanyan at the car and was almost done when we got to my inlaws.

Surprisingly, she left 2 sticks of yanyan untouched. She said she wanted to share her yanyan with her cousins, Julian and Jaja. Unfortunately, her cousins were not there yet when we got there. Summer was so confused whether to finish her yanyan or to keep it for her cousins. I let her decide. And she decided to keep it for her cousins. She was so excited to give it to her cousins when they saw each other.

It was just 2sticks of yanyan but I am so proud of my baby. She finally discovered the joy of sharing. I hope she'll continue to share what she have with the others. I hope we're bringing her up well.

Moving Up Day

It's Summer's sort of graduation day at Playschool International and they call it the Moving Up Day, with animal theme. As previously mentioned, Summer was assigned to wear a mynah head dress. The students had their animal parade, each introducing their own name, what animal they were and the sound they make. Summer just stood at the mic, must be mesmerized with all the mommies and daddies watching her. Teacher Tina have to ask her for her name, what animal she was and the sound she must perform. Then, they had their animal, animal song and dance number.Summer belonged to the pet and farm animal group, and recited 2 Little Black Birds with bird finger puppets.Their last performance was a song and dance number to the song of 'If I were..'.
Moving Up Day won't be complete without the awarding ceremony and distribution of certificates. Summer was awarded the 'Playschool Patrol Award' for always reporting the goings on inside and outside the classroom.Aminado na ako! Sa akin nagmana anak ko, sumbungera na! Tsismosa pa!

My mynah.

As soon as I received the memo from Summer's teacher to prepare a mynah head dress for their moving up day, I texted my sister right away to search for it.

I'd rather improvise a costume than buy a ready made one. I just want to make use of what I have. And since Summer won best costume on their halloween program, kinarir ko na ang costume nya since.

Took me weeks, helps from my SIL and sister, trips to the mall, and a fight with my hubby, just to finally finish one. Ang hirap pala maghanap ng mynah! Matatakot nga naman ang mga bata sa black bird. Ang daldal kasi ng anak ko kaya mynah ang na-assign na animal sa kanya e.

My SIL bought a yellow cap and I colored the visor orange with jobos, sew on my black hood from my jacket, cut-out eyes from felt paper and sew it on the hood. Voila! May mynah head dress na anak ko!
Mynah was silenced with the so many mommies and daddies watching them during their show.

Mom of a traveller toddler

I'm one proud momma again!

I brought Summer to school this morning and I saw Teacher Rachel.

Teacher Rachel: Hi mommy! Ang sarap sarap po kasama ni Summer. Di alagain.

Ang sarap pala ng feeling na kno-compliment ang anak mo. Parang ayaw ko na umalis sa harap nya and I want to hear more hahahaha.

Sigaw sya ng 'What's that? Elephant!' hanggang sa matapos ang film. Ang galing nya! 30minutes non-stop!

In short, di sya nakatulog sa ingay ng anak ko. Tanong nya, sagot nya.

Haayyy... Good news! Bad news!

My smart jetsetter

As Tita Nil and Benjie were packing their stuff for their flight the following day, Summer was busy in their room playing with them. All of a sudden, Summer ran out of the room and came back carrying a weighing scale.

We were all surprised. My mom asked me if I ordered Summer to get the scale. I said no. She asked me how Summer knew about it. I simply said, 'Byahera kasi!'

Amazing!

Summer moments

24/7 with Summer, without a yaya, here are some of my stories:

Background: Summer is a selfish kid. She doesn't know how to share. She's a brat. That's why I sent her to school - to be acquainted with kids her age so she would learn to socialize and share. Her Ninang Jenny's been teaching her to learn how to share using Barney song.

Scene: I was checking the payables. Summer wanted to write at the receipts too.

Summer: Mama, sulat me.
Me: No, Summer, this is Mama's.
Summer: I tell you Ninang Jenny.
Me: Tell her what?
Summer: Mama, share! Barney!

Summer is also so talkative! She would always ask, what!? with her eyebrows raised and big eyes, as if surprised and doesn't know what you're talking about. Until she learned a new word. As we were making kwento at the dining table, she would butt in and ask, sino? ako? again, with an acting surprised look. So one time, just at the time she looked at me and before she ask sino, I immediately asked her, sino? ikaw? She stopped and laughed, must be realizing how kulit she became.

I also wanted to introduce to her Winter, her baby brother - it will be a boy! It should be a boy! So everytime we pray, we include Winter in her long list of prayers. Then after she kisses me good night, I would ask her to kiss Winter in my tummy. After she kissed Summer, she would then lift her shirt and ask me to kiss her Winter too. We have 2 babies! 1 from my tummy, and 1 from her tummy!

I'm thankful I have a smart kid. Sometimes I feel dumb being with her.
